16th Cross Pearson presents Magic in the City Spring Summer 2025. This is a fashion show for the fashion enthusiasts that have a passion and love for the art form known as fashion. We are starting the first show of the year with a Spring/Summer. The show’s theme is Urban Opulence which is, “The essence of merging streetwear’s edgy, urban feel with the elegance and luxury of high fashion. A balance of boldness and sophistication, perfect for a collection that speaks to both worlds.”

We’re thrilled to announce the return of the much-anticipated drone racing event of the year: Sloss Drone Derby! Presented by Dearborn Drone Co, this year’s race is set against the backdrop of the historic Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, AL. This venue promises a blend of rich history and exhilarating drone competition, making it the perfect setting for our most dynamic event yet.

How would you like to have the run of a massive old industrial facility dating back to the 1880s that's now a National Historic Landmark? That's what we've put together for this exciting new workshop at the historic Sloss Furnaces site in Birmingham, AL.

42nd annual Magic City Art Connection contemporary art festival April 25-27, 2025 at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama.

This year's festival is celebrating Cinco de Mayo weekend! Mimosa Festival will be holding a huge pre-game for all your Cinco de Mayo festivities - expect tequila-based mimosas, tacos, and much more as we throw a massive party in the Magic City! See you there!

Aiming to foster productive dialogue around race, justice, and community unity, this project will host six free, public sewing workshops in communities across Jefferson County, during which participants will create individual squares of what will become the Jefferson County Memorial Quilt. Participants will be provided with sewing kits and instruction from Bib & Tucker Sew-Op, while educational programming surrounding the nature and importance of this history and the project will be led by The Black Cherry Tree Project during a portion of each workshop. A community-based initiative, this project seeks to reckon with central Alabama's haunting history of racial violence and propel racial reconciliation through the co-construction of a Jefferson County Memorial Quilt, which will be created in honor of the 33 African-Americans who were lynched in Jefferson County from the mid-19th through the mid-20th century. Workshops are free to the public and registration information will be listed on a later date.

Taco ’bout a lot of fun! Bare Hands, Inc. invites you to the seventh annual Birmingham Taco Fest, featuring Birmingham’s top taco vendors and food trucks, dessert vendors, music, community arts activities and an art market! Come and join in on a taco-tastic time that is packed with family fun, food and lots of flavor! As a cultural and culinary experience for attendees, Taco Fest creates awareness of the many restaurants and artists that are proud to call Birmingham home. Proceeds benefit Bare Hands, Inc.’s mission of collaborating with individuals and local communities to create immersive arts experiences and arts education programs.
